March MyGlam Bag

This is my second shipment from MyGlam. If you are unsure what MyGlam is or want to see what I got in my February bag, click here.

Here's a look at what my March bag included:

 The Bag

The design of the bag is really cute. Unfortunately, it has an awful chemical/gasoline smell. I'm going to see what I can do to get the smell to dissipate, but I shouldn't have to do that.

Brush and Brush Case

I think this is a cute idea on MyGlam's part. It sounds like other brushes will get sent with upcoming bags. I believe the bristles of the brush are natural hair, but it doesn't say anywhere. The bristles are nice and soft though. The style of this brush isn't one I reach for regularly, but I like the concept. The case isn't the best quality. It has a magnetic closure, but the magnets are relatively small and weak. I have to really pull down on the flap to get the magnets to meet up, and it would come open easily if it was just thrown into a purse.

3Lab Perfect Cleansing Foam

I have to say, I'm pretty happy with receiving this product. It is a full size that retails for $40. Other bags included a Pur-lisse Pur-lip Comfort Daily Lip Nourisher or a Murad Absolute Bronzing Boost SPF 15. I like trying out new facial cleansers, so I'm looking forward to using this. The one thing that I'm not in love with is that it has microbeads, and I like using cleansers that I can use around my eyes. I typically get off what eye makeup I can with a face wash in the shower and then remove the remaining with an eye makeup remover afterwards. I won't be able to do that with this one.

Dermstore Coupon Code

This says it is a gift card on the front, but there is a $50 purchase minimum, so it is, in my eyes, a coupon code. I don't think that this should be considered one of the samples in the bag because it isn't a sample. I don't think they should include things like this unless they are extras. However, I'm looking forward to using this much more than the NuMe code from last month. Dermstore.com has a wider variety of products and price-points to choose from. I definitely plan on using this before the 5/1 expiration date.

Murad Eye Lift Perfector

The size of this sample is disappointing. It isn't deluxe. I'm on the lookout for a good eye cream though, so I'm happy to give this one a try.

Pur-lisse Pur-Protect Essential Daily Moisturizer SPF 30

Same thoughts here. This isn't a deluxe sample, but I'm on the hunt for a good SPF moisturizer, so I'll probably be using this soon.

Keracolor Color Enhancing Leave-In Treatment

Yet again, this isn't a deluxe sample. I just read the directions on the back, and the two packets are supposed to be mixed together to use it. According to an insert paper, these packets are enough for 2-4 applications. I'm guessing it'll only be two for me because my hair is around shoulder-length.

Overall Thoughts

I'm happier with this bag than I was with last months, but MyGlam is still experiencing some growing pains. Most of the complaints I have read on Facebook are that they aren't including enough makeup samples like in the first bag. I agree. That was part of the reason I wanted to sign up for MyGlam. It sounds like they are working to fix that, but it will take a few months because of how far ahead they have bags planned. They also need to improve the size of the samples - three foil packet samples this month was pretty skimpy.

I may or may not be receiving next months bag. The credit card that I used to sign up for MyGlam expires at the end of this month, and I currently can't update that on MyGlam's site without cancelling my subscription (and they currently aren't accepting any new subscriptions). They posted on Facebook that people should be able to change their payment information this week, but I can't yet. I hope I can get it changed before the cutoff for the April bag because I really would like to stick with MyGlam for a bit longer in the hopes that things improve.

What did you think of March's GlamBag? If you have subscribed, are you sticking with them? If you haven't, are you wanting to subscribe? What sample service is your favorite?

  1. The contents of this one were ok for me. I got the lip perfector, which is actually pretty nice. I shop at DermStore pretty frequently, so I'll definitely get use of the code to replenish skincare. BUT, the smell has me PO'd. How could they not notice? It's really gross.

    1. The lip perfector would have been a good product for me too. I'm really glad I didn't get the bronzing product. I'm already plotting what I'm going to get with the Dermstore code. I know I'm going to get a Skindinavia setting spray. I haven't decided what else yet.
